SWEDEN API

Locations in Sweden

A point in Sweden, given as lat,lon, placed in SCB’s DeSO area and municipality, with sections read live from Swedish open sources. Same keys and allowance as the address API, but the Sweden capability must be on the subscription. A point counts as one lookup per day; /resolve is free. Swedish addresses and properties are not included: Lantmäteriet’s registers need an agreement we do not have yet.

Caveats
  • MCF maps selected watercourses and lakes, not all of Sweden. not_found means the point is outside every mapped extent; it does not mean the point cannot flood, because the watercourse may never have been mapped.
  • The maps are overview mappings (översiktliga karteringar) intended for planning; most are based on a 2 m elevation model, some older ones on 50 m. They are not a site assessment.
  • Climate-adjusted scenarios assume end-of-century flows as MCF states them for each mapping; the scenario set differs between mappings.

Caveats
  • A static level model: land below the stated sea water level in RH 2000. It does not model waves, wind set-up, storm duration, barriers or drainage, and is not a storm-surge forecast or return period.
  • Levels are tested at 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 m, so the answer is a band between highest_dry_level_m and lowest_flooding_level_m, not an exact elevation.
  • MCF removed islands smaller than 5 000 m² from the layers; they show as flooded at every level.
  • not_found with reason above_5_m_sea_level means the point stays dry at 5.0 m; inland points answer the same way.

Caveats
  • This is an index of which areas have a cloudburst mapping, not the mapping itself: the depth maps are held by the municipality. Ask the municipality for the result.
  • not_found means MCF's overview lists no mapping here; a municipality may have one that has not been reported to MCF.

Caveats
  • Figures are what drillers reported to SGU, often at the time of drilling; capacity and water level change over time and are not measured by SGU.
  • Well positions carry an accuracy class; many are only accurate to within 100 m. The distance is to the recorded position.
  • A neighbouring well's yield suggests, but does not establish, what a new well here would give. Energy wells (geothermal) are included and do not supply water.
  • Property designations recorded with each well are not returned.

Caveats
  • contains_point false means the area intersects a 2 × 2 km square around the point, not that it lies within a stated distance; up to 50 areas are returned.

  • Observations are from the nearest active station for each parameter, which can be tens of kilometres away and at a different height; they describe the station, not the point.

  • The feed holds recent events only; history before Approach began collecting is absent, so early periods undercount.
