What this does not say

Quoted verbatim from the section’s warnings field, exactly as the API returns it. They are not translated: a translation would show something other than what your response actually contains.

Kommune level, not school level: these are averages over the kommune's pupils, not the results of the school nearest the address or the catchment school. Udir's school-by-school results (grunnskolepoeng, nasjonale prøver, eksamen) are in statistikkbanken.udir.no and skoleporten.udir.no and have no open export, so they are not served. Indicators: gjennomsnittlig grunnskolepoeng (points, the average of final marks at the end of lower secondary), and the percentage of pupils at mastery level 3-5 on the 8. trinn national tests in reading and in numeracy. kostra_year is SSB's own year label for the figure.
withheld=true means SSB shows no figure for that kommune and year (missing_symbol is its symbol: ':' withheld for confidentiality or too few pupils, '.' not available). value is then null, never zero, and nothing is filled from another year or the county. A small kommune often has the national-test shares withheld in every year. difference_from_national is value minus national_value in the same unit and is null whenever either is missing. National tests measure basic skills in reading and numeracy only; they are not a ranking of schools.
