Each row is the latest inspection collected for one food-service premises within 1.5 km, nearest first. The grades are Mattilsynet's own values, stored as published, and are not interpreted here; inspection_date is the day of that inspection and can be years old. A grade describes that inspection, not the premises today, and is not a guarantee about the food or the kitchen. total_grade is the worst of the four theme grades Mattilsynet prints on the poster (routines_grade: Rutiner og ledelse; premises_grade: Lokaler og utstyr; food_handling_grade: Mathåndtering og tilberedning; labelling_grade: Merking og sporbarhet), each 0 no breach, 1 minor breach without follow-up, 2 breach requiring follow-up, 3 serious breach, 4 not applicable, 5 not assessed. hygiene_grade, cleanliness_grade and maintenance_grade are legacy names that Mattilsynet's data has never filled; they are always null.
Coverage is whatever the daily collection has stored (GET /coverage, source food_inspections): a premises can be missing because it is not inspected, newly opened, or because Mattilsynet's file carries no position, so a premises is placed only when its street address and postal code match the Kartverket address register unambiguously (the address points all within 150 m of each other and in one kommune); a range such as "3-5", a place name or a misspelt street leaves it unplaced and out of this section. latitude and longitude are that address point, not a surveyed position of the premises. An empty section is therefore not evidence that no food-service premises are nearby. Straight-line EPSG:25833 distance, not travel distance.
Sole traders (enkeltpersonforetak) and premises whose organisasjonsnummer does not match Enhetsregisteret are left out, because a sole trader's trading name is its owner's.
Licence: Mattilsynet publishes the results publicly; no licence text is stored with the data and none has been checked against a stated licence by Approach. Confirm Mattilsynet's terms before redistributing the section in bulk. Attribution: Mattilsynet.
