Normal build conditions for the next six months at the nearest MET station

For each of the next six months, how many frost, freeze-thaw, snow, heavy-rain and windy days the nearest MET station normally has, and how many days an outdoor crew can normally work. A normal from past years, not a forecast.

What this does not say

Quoted verbatim from the section’s warnings field, exactly as the API returns it. They are not translated: a translation would show something other than what your response actually contains.

  • One row per calendar month, starting with the current one: the average over every complete year of that month at the nearest MET station with at least three years of each month. It is a normal, not a forecast of this year: a cold or wet year differs, and MET's seasonal outlook is not part of it. Snow is precipitation that fell on a day with mean temperature below 1 °C (MET's daily record has no snow depth). A workable day has a maximum above 0 °C, under 5 mm of precipitation and gusts under 15 m/s; a day missing a gust reading counts as calm.
  • freeze_thaw_days_per_year counts days whose minimum is below zero and maximum above zero, not measured material-damage cycles. frost_index sums max(0, minus the estimated daily mean) over a season (July to June), not ground frost depth. design_temperature_c is a legacy field name for the minimum up-to-three-observation rolling mean; gaps and missing values mean it need not represent three consecutive days, and it is not an HVAC sizing value. dry_spell_days describes stored runs below 1 mm rain, not a calibrated fire-risk probability. Snow fields sum precipitation of at least 1 mm on days with estimated mean below 1 C: possible snowfall water-equivalent proxies, not snow depth or roof load. snow_water_mm_max_season is a station-season total, not snow retained on a roof; missing precipitation can reduce totals. The _5y figures are extremes among ingested observations in the recent five-year window, not proof of complete five-year coverage.

Provider-contract fields

10 of 19 fields are value fields — the ones that decide whether a record actually says anything. The rest are context: identifiers, codes and timestamps. Fields marked “open” also occur in the demo projection, which may have different field definitions. Other fields require the appropriate field policy and source access, not just a key.
